I perform in a band
and in various duos and trios
at fairs and festivals and in bars, restaurants and clubs across Ontario. We play about 100 shows a year, showcasing the acoustic lap steel guitar. The distinctive slide of the lap steel weaves through an eclectic mix of roots, vintage rock ’n’ roll and blues providing an unusual musical twist that audiences really enjoy. The band features the lap steel guitar together with drums and bass or electric guitar. The duos and trios combine my slide guitar with another guitar, a stand-up bass or the rhythm of the cajon. The lap steel guitar brings songs to life in a way that other guitars can't. For festivals, roots, Americana and blues venues, I perform original work and songs that may be lesser known to the general public. Many of these are featured on my CD, "Seventh Day"
. For restaurants, bars and clubs, I add many additional songs by such artists as The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Credence Clearwater, Tom Petty, Johnny Cash, Neil Young, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and others because audiences at those venues often like to hear familiar songs. I find that works well. (See the full Repertoire here.
